Being teased by Norm Macdonald left Courtney Thorne-Smith ‘Giddy’



Actress Courtney Thorne-Smith admitted she felt dizzy after being roasted by Norm Macdonald on Late at night with Conan O’Brien.

The momentous moment came in 1997. Macdonald, who was a regular on O’Brien’s show, had been the first guest of the evening. When Thorne-Smith arrived next, the Saturday Night Live the comedian slipped onto the sofa, but still remained heavily involved in the conversation.

After discussing his departure from the hit TV series Melrose Square, Thorne-Smith started talking about his next movie, President of the council — notable because of his co-star, Carrot Top. It was at this point that Macdonald began to dive happily. “If there’s Carrot Top in it, do you know what the right name would be for that? “When Norm took over, I was like, ‘Oh, thank you, my God and Norm Macdonald’. It was a blessing, “said the actress. Vanity Fair, noting that she “wasn’t thrilled” to be promoting President of the council in the first place. “Look, if I had thought that President of the council was my way to an Oscar, I might have been offended.
