Who plays

Los Angeles @ Sacramento

Current records: Los Angeles 11-11; Sacramento 8-13

What there is to know

The Los Angeles Lakers have enjoyed the comforts of home in their last two games, but now they have to hit the road. Los Angeles and the Sacramento Kings will face off in a Battle of the Pacific Division at 10 p.m. ET Tuesday at the Golden 1 Center. If the game looks like Sacramento’s 141-137 victory in their previous meeting in November, the scorer will be very busy.

The Lakers emerged victorious Sunday against the Detroit Pistons, topping 110-106. Little Los Angeles forward LeBron James did his thing and had 33 points and nine assists in addition to five boards. LBJ’s night made it three straight games in which he scored at least 30 points.

Meanwhile, things couldn’t have been much worse for Sacramento as they lost 128-101 to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. Sacramento was in a difficult position at halftime with the score already 76-52. The Kings’ top scorers were shooter Buddy Hield (14 points), small forward Terence Davis (13 points), Louis King (12 points) and point guard De’Aaron Fox (12 points).

Barring any buzzer batsmen, the Lakers are set to win a tight contest. But watch out for bettors: they are only 3-10 against the spread when favored.

Los Angeles’ victory took them to 11-11 while Sacramento’s loss brought them down to 8-13. Some defensive stats to watch out for: Los Angeles is the third-worst in the league in points against per game, averaging 114.1. Sacramento has seen its own struggles as it stumbles into the competition with the fourth-highest points allowed per game in the league, after allowing 113.1 on average. It’s possible that one of those Achilles heels will end up tripping the losing team.
