Hogwarts Legacy Developers Finally Address Microtransaction Issues

Avalanche Studios finally erase fans’ concerns from what they recently saw during the Hogwarts Legacy State of Play broadcast.

Many fans who saw the recent broadcast of State of Play were amazed at the gameplay it offered. Open world exploration, magic duels, breeding magic beasts, customizations and many more. There were a few flaws though and one of them was one they had seen while brewing potions. It looks like potions while brewing will have a timer before they can be completed.

Why are fans worried about timers? This mechanic is usually seen in mobile games where players will have to wait in real time before being able to redo a certain mechanic and it usually takes hours. In order to shorten this, the game company hosting the game usually offers items that can either shorten the time or produce it instantly, but they will have to buy it. They have to spend real money to buy these items. When they saw the potion brewing timers, they were worried that the time was real time and they needed to purchase the items for the potions to be brewed instantly with real money as well.

Many fans have asked Avalanche Studios for comment and recently one of their reps clarified it.

Community manager Chandler Wood made it clear that there are no in-game microtransactions. He didn’t say on the timers whether they were real-time or just game time. and can be ignored at any time. There’s also a day cycle, so it’s possible to skip it by simply changing the in-game time.

For now, fans are happy, but there are still lingering concerns in the air.

Hogwarts Legacy will launch later in 2022. It will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
