65-year-old accuses Dmk Cadre of losing 62 liters in online lottery and ending his life | Eroding News

ERODE: A 54-year-old man died by hanging himself in his house in Mullai Nagar here on Saturday after making a video indicating he had lost 62 lakh to DMK official Senthil Kumar, who ran an online lottery, and shared it on WhatsApp. The video went viral on social media. The North Erode police registered a case and opened an investigation.
A police officer identified the deceased as J Radhakrishnan, a thread broker. He is survived by his wife Malathi, 52, and two daughters. “Radhakrishnan ran a power loom unit, which he closed after suffering huge losses, before becoming a yarn commissioner.”
On Friday evening, the officer said, Radhakrishnan recorded a video stating that he had lost 62 lakh in an online lottery fraud and was afraid he would become addicted to the online lottery if he was alive. After sharing it with some of his contacts on WhatsApp, he took his own life in the early hours of Saturday.
Family members spotted him hanging from his bedroom ceiling in the morning and alerted Erode North police, who sent the body to the government hospital for an autopsy.
District Superintendent of Police V Sasimohan said they were looking into how Radhakrishnan lost money to Senthil Kumar. “We will arrest him if he is proven guilty.”tnn
